Wuts up fools, wut it is wut it do, dis yo homeboy again, been crackalackin. Anywho, my homeboy stumbled upon dis joint & left some food in his refrigerator. Went to his house, open up his fridge & ate dat fool's food son. Da fool was like, where my food at fool? I was like, I ain't know. Food was good fool. He then told me about this place & I went there. First & foremost, this is a relatively inexpensive seafood place. They have all sorts of fish, including shrimps, snow crabs, & what not. However, my main purpose of coming here is their fish (fried, grilled, or steamed). U can get the dinner & get 2 sides. So far, I had salmon, tilapia, catfish, trout, & this other joint fish. My favorite so far is tilapia. They have plenty of sides, I have attached pictures to represent their sides. Also, not all of the places have the same prices, some places have a small increase while other places have a slight decrease. Just because its listed in their take-out menu, u should look at the menu at the top of their boards, inside the restaurant. The only thing that I wished they did better was their sweet potato, it's too sweet in my opinion. They should put less brown sugar. Anyhow, I ain't trynna write no more. To sum in it up, this is a healthy place to get some good seafood without paying the restaurant prices as u would so at red lobster. U can also get corn bread or a bread of ur chose when u get the dinner. Also, their smoothies are a bit expensive, but the ingredients are made fresh, in front of u. They actually use real fruits & vegetables. BTW, when u order ur food, u should expect to wait about 5 minutes for them to cook it. They'll give u a ticket # & will call ur food when it's done. All in all, I frequent this place at least 3-4 times a week son. Holla at yo homeboy, AKA, Mr. Booty daddy.

If you are going early (or late), call to make sure they are open and have what you desire. The hours posted on the door are different from those posted on Yelp. My daughter and I went one morning to get a smoothie and they were not open! Yelp posted an opening time of 9:00am. But they didn't open until 10:00am. Some may say just go somewhere else. But, that is pretty rough if you are watching what you eat and trying to make good/healthy food choices. Not many places on this side of town to get a fresh-made fruit/veggie smoothie. We ended up at McDonald's...ugh!

The meats and seafood is good but the sides they have is average and not down home taste I'm looking for....the greens taste bitter, the Mac n cheese smh artificial cheese product..sweet potatoes need more sweet Lol. My best bet is just to buy the meats from there n cook my own sides... the dmv area food is getting very nasty and I'm from here and I'm very disappointed. Hate to throw shade but we need southern oldskool black people to cook in there Lol. BTW I'm black so I know what I look for in soul food and darling there's no Soul in that food. just find a good website and pull recipes... somethin...

Are y'all serious? This place has Kraft Mac n' cheese. Not even the creamy version, the damn powdered add milk version. How is this a soul food restaurant? There is no soul food Mac n cheese sold here. Breaking the 2nd commandment of soul food cooking. Fish was good. Scallops still had side muscle. Teriyaki green beans were good. Next.

I love this place. The food is almost always perfect. The service is always friendly and kind. And they give you so much food! Since they are not a fast food restaurant they won't speed your food out to you. It does take some time to prep food right. But they also have an extensive amount of already prepared foods and the veggies are great too. So I highly recommend them. Friendly people, great service and good wholesome food!

I ordered the one pound fried jumbo shrimp with fries ($14). It was really good but it was kinda salty. They are super slow...so plan on waiting about 15 minutes or more for your food.

Was on the East Coast for Pres. Obama's 2013 inauguration one of the things on my agenda was to go to a Soul food restaurant. I figured there was better Soul food on the east coast. Oh Lord what was I thinking. This place had the worst food AND being from California I stuck out like a sore thumb. Overcooked string beans, tough fried chicken and Kraft type mac n' cheese. Really? It should be baked with lots of cheese and butter. Do not go here or if you do avoid things mentioned above!!

They're under new management so it's now called Mid-Atlantic Seafood and a lot of good changes have been made! The place is clean and very bright, it looks like a decent self-service cafeteria type of sit down place, similar to the kind they have in D.C.. Prices are decent, most meals cost about $8-10. The food is good and the portions are really big so you'll have enough for two or three meals depending on how much you eat. They have a really large menu, you could spend 10-15 minutes studying the options. The menu includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a lot of desserts and even appetizers, it would be nearly impossible to not find something you want on that menu...unless maybe you are vegan. The first time my mom got food for us, she got a whiting dinner for me with macaroni and cheese and yams, and she got a whiting sandwich with a side of hush puppies. Everything tasted good and fresh. This time I got the 7 jumbo shrimp (and they are huge!) meal with macaroni and cheese and yams (creature of habit) and 3 BBQ wings with candied apples and cole slaw for my mom, everything is good. We also got a side salad which looks like a regular meal and two desserts, sweet potato pie and chocolate cake-both good Customer service is good and they are friendly BUT please make sure you check your order, my mom didn't get bread with her sandwich last time, just two pieces of fish. This time when I went, I got my order and was almost out of the door before realizing I didn't have my salad or soda. I knocked one star off because of that. They were nice enough to give my 5 year old son a bag of chips, he was happy about that! I'll be back for sure!

OK, so I really wanna give this place 3 stars only for "trying" so hard. I mean seriously; I have been living in this area for over 20 years and have seen this location go through different managements like us ladies change panties. Off that note here goes my review... Last time I went to this place (over 2 years ago) it was run down, dirty, just ugh not good at all and I left and never looked back UNTIL... The other day I am out with my mom and she decides she wants to try this place out. I decided what the heck, why not. Besides it's lit up like a Christmas Tree and looks all bright with the flags flying around outside and what not so anywho we get there, park, go in and voila I am met with cleanliness. It had a lot of space and the food was setup in the display case very nicely. Lots of tables for you to sit and eat. The staff was helpful, personalities were...ok. They have snow crab legs for like $9 lb ,shrimp was the same, slices of cake and pie range around $4/$5 a piece, croacker, flounder, trout, etc. dinner/sandwiches, BBQ/Plain baked chicken, mac-n-cheese, green beans, kale/collard greens, pig feet, chitterlings...mmm hmm yep you just read those last 2 things right LOL OH! and they had salmon and a few other things I but I'm sure you get the point. The Salmon looked good. It was $9 a piece but I didn't get it. The fried chicken wings looked they were on steroids but still looked good We got croacker fish dinners, BBQ and Plain Chicken, mac-n cheese, kale and collard greens, homefries, candied yams and cabbage. Out of everything I enjoyed the cabbage the most...the fried fish was just ok to me. I am a big fried fish, crab, shrimp, seafood eater so I am very picky about my fish. I could tell that parts of the fish was freezer burnt, the seasoning was ok but the fish wasn't all that fresh. The mac-n-cheese IS NOT "SOUL FOOD Style" Mac and Cheese it is more like typical plain mac n cheese you would find in a Chinese restaurant with a little extra cheese...that is the best way I can describe it. The greens were so so...I wouldn't order it again. The kids enjoyed the BBQ/Plain chicken and the mac-n-cheese. One thing I didn't like about this place was that they didn't have any fish out on display so you could see what they were going to cook for you. I like to see my fish, check the eyes make sure they are clear so I'll know they are fresh and not just coming out of a freezer (which is what my fish tasted like). It was sad because I wanted to like the fish because the seasoning was good but couldn't because the fish wasn't fresh. If I were to go back to this place it would more than likely be for the crab legs and shrimp only because they have decent prices. Chicken for the kids because they seemed to have enjoyed it. Request to see the fish before ordering it.

Went here this morning for breakfast Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Wheat and Home Fries with Onions. It was delish! The Home Fries w/Onions are worth the price of admission alone. I also frequent this spot in the evenings for dinner. My norm is the Fried Whitting. It's always well seasoned. The Steak and Cheese is one of the best in the area. May need to ask for extra meat depending on how hearty you like your subs...

They have renovated the place and added new staff. Very pleasant now that you can sit and eat.

We ALWAYS enjoys our feasts at Atlantic Seafood. The whiting, shrimp, scallops are great. My daughter really enjoys the crab cakes. We love this restaurant. I consistently get the Mac/Cheese and Collards. My husband enjoys the mashed potatoes and lo mein. My daughter likes the greens and the sweet corn. We always have leftovers for the lunch the next day. They've revamped and have new employees and management. The people are friendlier than before.

If you like dingy, you'll love Mid Atlantic. If you like poorly seasoned collard greens, under cooked BBQ chicken wings and bland mac and cheese, you'll absolutely delight in Mid Atlantic Seafood. If you like having your server ask you if you want bread and not bringing it to your table, you'll love Mid Atlantic. I hope you are getting the picture, because I have many more of these delightful "if-then" statements. My wife, daughter and I went to this restaurant one Saturday afternoon and the experience was poor. Between the three of us, we tasted their crab cake sandwich, collard greens, chow mien, mac and cheese, BBQ chicken wings, baked chicken and broccoli and cheese. All of it was terrible. So much so, that we threw all of it away. We each took one bite of our own meal and the meal of the others and we unanimously agreed that everything was inedible. We are not food snobs. My daughter and I eat Mickey D's like its gourmet fast food. My wife never turns away Boca dogs and burgers. So, when we say "Ewww!" you can take it on authority that the food is sub-par. Sincerely, APlus GoldStar

This place has the best smoothies and their fish is cooked to order and it is very fresh! They run a clean ship and always have the friendliest staff ready to serve you. Best place to eat in the area by far.

Great place for the family! This place has seafood, American entrees, and sandwiches. I love the large selection of sides. My favorite side was the mixed kale greens - Delicious!!! I had the grilled red snapper. It was ok. My only problem with the snapper was that it didn't taste very fresh. My husband had a fried combination seafood platter. The seafood tasted ok, but the quality of the seafood is not the highest. Good place when you want cheap food but definitely not a place to cone to with high expectations.

The correct name is Mid Atlantic Seafood and Soul Food. This place sells everything from fresh fish to chitterlings. I had the baked wings, yams and teriyaki string beans which were quite tasty. It looks like a typical shady carryout from the outside but the inside is amazingly clean, bright and the food selections are neatly set up. I wish Yelp offered 1/2 stars because this one would definitely get 3.5!

My husband and I went here after one of the sales people at the nearby furniture store and my aunt told us how delish and affordable the food is. They were both right. We had an awesome lunch here. All of our favorite dishes in one place!
